Dr. Shaison P. Ouseph is an internationally acclaimed documentary filmmaker, cameraman, and photographer based in Mumbai, India. His many credits range from director of photography to art direction on a myriad of documentaries and independent feature projects.

Dr. Shaison has been recognized for his compassionate and humanist voice, emphasizing the potential of the human spirit, focus on universal intrinsic needs, environmental awareness, and solving of global issues through the art and scope of film.

Among the esteemed organizations that have bestowed awards and certificates on him for his work on social issues are the United Nations, the US Embassy, International Labour Organization, and International Independent Film Awards. World Institute for Peace (WIP) recognized Dr. Shaison as the World Icon of Media for Peace in 2017, and his association with international organizations such as International Human Rights Consortium, Habitat for Humanity, Seeds of Peace, and the Life Story Library Foundation in the USA, are milestone accomplishments of his career. In 2018 Brampton International University, Canada, bestowed him with an Honorary Doctorate for his contribution to the Media and Arts.

Currently, Dr. Shaison is the Head of Department for Film & Television at XIC, St. Xavier’s College, Mumbai, and teaches filmmaking around the world. Dr. Shaison believes that the intrinsic power of film is in its ability to touch the human psyche, and move its audience in a more relatable way than any other medium. His goal in making films and teaching filmmaking is to inspire others with the art of storytelling, and the beauty of the human experience.
